The Coming Year 2026 & Beyond 2025 was a big experiment with You Tube and monetization. I did well for a first try and succeeded in many ways yet failed to deliver all things Alaskan. Many viewers and subscribers wondered why? My van had so much wrong with it that it stacked up like poker chips on a table with only one player. At the time i sold it ..it was beyond my means to fix and repair daily...LOL I just couldn't do road trips and at 16 mpg it hit me hard in the wallet just to do a postal run.. My new SUV gets 24 mpg in winter and 29 mpg in the warm months so i am doing much better but the whole thing inside and out is plastic.... Ive never seen so much plastic on a rig and i am sure theres a metal frame somewhere..LOL I haven't had any issues with it except the low tire pressure sensor goes off from time to time so i get out and check anyway. It doesn't leak or use oil and with all vehicles requires regular maintenance ... With that said I can go out and about and a run north to Talkeetna is coming in May or June... I like the subs that Cubby's has although spendy they have a grocery store that by others accounts costs a small fortune but honestly any grocer that far north will. With the advent of gigabit internet here this summer I can upload a 1 hour drive in 9 minutes instead of 12 hours...now that will be a treat. All of you who live in the big cities will appreciate the wilds of Alaska. Its been ages since Ive been north of Trapper Creek. And the server project, well ive got the gear except for a new battery for the UPS and i will have that in May. As for the drives I have #2 8tb Seagate Ironwolf HDD and #2 500gb SATA SSD for buffer and cache..Just need a couple ssd adapter trays from Ebay..Coming in April. I have to learn Linux and as I am told its not for the faint of heart..Having my own server I can bypass my web hosts meager 32mb file size and serve videos to my website that would only be exclusive to my website...Well thats the idea anyway...And a backup generator with inverter is needed for that project...One way is a grant and if not an October buy with the PFD we get every year. All fun and games? No way..Lots of work. And thats just half the fun. Just keeping my equipment alive is the other half. Its like an archeological dig in here and any Paleontologist can see the ladder of evolution in my setup. Peace, BigT
